18th Feb, day i discover that i am starting to actually like "cong" and "zha cong"

some bbq-ed rice paper dish thats sold commonly outside schools, expecially during evening time when the kids come out. its a wild, frantic battle scene to see them try to make this as fast as possible, cause the kids dun wait very long, if too long, they jus go off cause their parents dun wanna wait.

with chicken egg-5k VND. with about 5 or 6 quail eggs- 5k. obviously i had both of them to see the diff =P

crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, a little spicy as well cause of the chilli powder and chili sauce that they splatter over the inside before wrapping it.

i nvr thought i would actually say this to the lady, but i actually pointed at this pot of "cong" with some paste and said "mom gai-ner" which means more! add more cong?!?! is this a joke?!?! family & frens will know this is almost impossible cause of how much i used to hate "cong"... hmmm mayb travel changes my taste buds bah... and mayb other stuff as well which i have yet to discover...

"bie-jng" no idea how to spell it but this is what it sounds like. traditional Viet sticky rice dish thats common during Tet. his father prepared this for bfast with me.

his father invited me for b'fast with me and apparently he likes me alot cause he says that i always smile when i talk. really? hmmm... i guess so bah?

learnt sth new bout vietnamese culture/practices/thinking. apparently you can take photo with 2 ppl inside, or 4, or 5 or any other number. but you cannot take photo with 3 ppl in it. only found out when i asked Thanh (the guy who could speak english) to join me in the photo with his father but he vehemently rejected and told me "No, No, cannot..."

left Dalat city for Buon Ma Thuot and the route was basically wilderness throughout...

nowhere to sleep but this beautiful clearing in the middle of nowhere!

the view from my tent in the morning. it was so freaking ulu that i didnt even bother to lock my bike cause anybody who comes here to steal a bicycle at the top of the mountains is prob a nutcase. no point locking my bike anyway if a nutcase decides to drop by...
